I started playing daily fantasy with prizepicks about a month ago, and so far have found it pretty easy to build my initial $50 deposit into some easy profit. I'm not talking crazy money here, but I have made a few hundred dollars with little effort. Here's what I've learned so far summarized into some tips.

If you're not familar, PrizePicks lets you predict individual player performance by choosing whether they'll go over or under on projected stat lines. You're not going up against professional gamblers in head to head matchups - instead, it's far more casual, and you just need to use some simple strategy, along with their frequent promotions to make some easy profits.

  1. Only play once or twice a week, and use flex picks instead of power plays except on fridays. The difference in payouts between these types of picks is the following:

    3-Pick Flex: 3/3 = 2.25x, 2/3 = 1.

    3-Pick Power: 3/3 = 5x, any loss = 0x

Of course, the more picks you make, the more money you win.

  2. Use the weekly friday protected plays, and make it a ballsy power play. A protected play puts any losses back to your promo fund balance if you lose. If you win, you win. go ahead and have fun, it's friday.

Make picks where you see value. This often means looking at a daily injury report and seeing if a star is sitting, or any big daily change. Often, the easy picks (at least for NBA games) is picking the over on a non-star player who's been hot, or who is seeing an uptick in minutes due to injuries.

  3. If you don't feel good about a pick, don't make it.

  4. Overs are more fun than unders. It's as simple as that.

  5. Use the PrizePicks referral program. For example, my promo code is PR-BG4FXS3. For every friend that signs up and deposits, they give $25 in promo funds.
