Why Getting Referrals Is Harder Than Ever: My Experience and Struggles with Social Media Sharing
Getting referrals nowadays feels way harder than before, especially on platforms like Twitter. I mean, back in the day, you could just post a link, and people might actually click on it out of curiosity. But today, people are way more skeptical. It's like everyone’s seen so many “get-rich-quick” schemes that they just don’t trust any links anymore, especially if they don’t know the person sharing them.
When I share my referral link for something like Honeygain, I try to explain why I use it, what I actually earn, and even show proof. But even with all that, I get it – people still hesitate. It’s almost like you have to build trust over time or find really creative ways to show it’s worth their time and won’t scam them.
Another problem is just getting people to see the link. Algorithms on social media often bury posts with referral links, making it harder to reach anyone. So now, I’m thinking of trying different approaches, like sharing a personal story with a casual mention of the referral. Maybe this way, it feels more natural and less salesy.
Honestly, it’s a learning curve.
